In a statement posted on social media, Grumpy Cat’s family said:
“We are deeply saddened to announce the loss of our beloved pet. Despite receiving excellent care from top experts and the love of our dear family, Grumpy experienced complications from a urinary tract infection. Grumpy fought bravely but could not overcome it. She peacefully left us on Tuesday morning, May 14th, at home in the arms of her mother, Tabatha.
In addition to being our cherished pet and a beloved member of our family, Grumpy has brought smiles to millions of people worldwide, even during difficult times.
Grumpy’s spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of fans everywhere.”
