Surgeon that tried to save Princess Diana’s life gives first ever account on what really happened

Love for Princess Diana was universal. She was a tremendous role model for many, humorous, compassionate, and down to earth.

Diana’s life-ending car accident in Paris will always be a horrible moment in history. Diana left behind a legacy that will endure forever, and her loss was felt globally.

However, what took place in Paris that evening? What kind of wounds did she have? For the first time, physician MonSef Dahman—who attempted to save Diana’s life that terrible night—has now come out.

A nation was shocked to learn of Diana’s death, and her boys William and Harry were left motherless. The horrific vehicle crash and its possible cause have been the subject of several discussions and debates. But now, one individual who was caught up in the tragedy has come forward.

Diana’s attempt to survive was left to the care of MonSef Dahman, a surgeon who was employed in a hospital in Paris at the time.

He detailed the entire incident in a recent interview with Daily Mail.

He told the British news site, “The thought that you have lost an important person, for whom you cared personally, marks you for life.”

Dahman wasn’t even meant to have worked that night, to start. His wife was expecting a child at the moment, and he was a young duty general surgeon at the largest hospital in France. Originally scheduled to take a vacation outside of Paris, they chose to stay because his wife was expecting their second kid.

Dahman worked all summer long as a result. Being a junior doctor, he had to work extremely long shifts. And on this specific weekend, he began work at 8 a.m. and continued to work until 2 a.m.

According to Dahman, the day was “pretty easy.” He hadn’t been required to carry out any challenging tasks, so he was able to take a few seconds to relax.

But things drastically changed at two in the morning.

Diana was riding in a car when it collided in a Paris tunnel at around 12.23 am. Despite receiving extensive care from on-site medical professionals, she experienced a heart arrest in the ambulance.

Diana arrived at the hospital six minutes after two in the morning.

“The senior duty anesthetist, Bruno Riou, called me while I was sleeping in the duty room and told me to go to the emergency room,” Dahman told Daily Mail. “I was only informed that there had been a serious accident involving a young woman; I was not informed that it was Lady Diana.”

Dahman was thirty-three years old at the time. He realized how bad things were when he got back from the bathroom, which was roughly 50 meters from the emergency room.

And he was told that Princess Diana was the one lying on the stretcher as soon as he entered the room.

“It was only at that precise moment that I realized what all of this strange activity was,” he said.

“It is extremely important for any doctor or surgeon to deal with a young woman in this state. Naturally, this is much more true if she is a princess.

Diana had severe internal injuries, as shown by the results of her X-ray when she arrived at the hospital. She was given a blood transfusion right away.

Diana had another heart arrest fifteen minutes after she arrived. Dahman attempted surgery, but the Princess’s wounds were too severe.

Her heart would just not beat again.

“We repeatedly attempted electric shocks and, as I had previously done in the emergency department, cardiac massage,” Dahman said. Professor Riou had given the adrenaline injection. However, we were unable to restart her heartbeat.

Diana was battled to stay alive by Dahman and his medical staff. Ultimately, though, there was nothing they could do. Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital, he continued, was one of the greatest in all of France for these kinds of emergencies, and he was “happy and proud” to have saved those who had been brought in.

In Diana’s instance, he initially experienced hope. But in the end, they were unable to save her.

He declared, “We tried a lot, really an awful lot, and we fought hard.” To be honest, working under those circumstances makes it difficult to recognize the passing of time. The only thing that matters is that we give this young lady every opportunity.

“We were unable to save her. And that had a significant impact on us.

Remembers it as if it were yesterday.

MonSef Dahman, a surgeon currently practicing in the French town of Antibes, remembers that awful night at the hospital in 1997 as August draws near every year. Like millions of others worldwide, he watched the burial. It was a catastrophe.

He told Daily Mail, “I don’t go back to it all the time because a lot of years have gone by.” However, I’ve received new books about Diana’s passing every time one has been published in France. Unfortunately, I have a collection of these books.

People all throughout the world still adore Princess Diana because of her enduring energy and legacy. There will soon be a new documentary on the late Princess on television.

According to Express, there will be fresh disclosures on Princess Diana’s final days in the ninety-minute movie. In the documentary, journalist and royal specialist Richard Kay makes an appearance. He discloses that he was the final person to speak with Diana prior to the catastrophic automobile crash.

I chatted with her that evening. Kay remembered, “The police told me she called me the last time she did.”

A new documentary about Diana

Diana eventually got a divorce from Prince Charles a year before she passed away. According to some sources, Diana feared that Charles and the Queen were planning to keep her apart from William and Harry. According to biographer Howard Hodgson, who wrote Charles: The Man Who Will Be King in 2007, this is the case.

According to Hodgson, “she was fully aware that the Queen possessed the constitutional right and the legal authority to assume responsibility for the upbringing and education of both boys.”

“Therefore, if Diana eventually burned all of her bridges with the Royal Family, she might end up being the boys’ guardian or even appoint one—this would most likely be their father.”

Following her breakup with Prince Charles, Diana seemed to be in “quite a good place,” according to Richard Kay. Just when she was beginning a new chapter in her life, she and her kids found themselves robbed of everything.

Kay stated that she was in a desperate attempt to start over, try something new, and investigate a different sort of royalty. “And she desired to visit her boys again.”

“The most deeply mourned individual in history”

The “remarkable life” of Princess Diana will be honored in the upcoming documentary. Executive Producer David Glover stated that the documentary was released at the “ideal moment to revisit her life and legacy.”

According to Glover, “Princess Diana had a certain something magical about her. She used her connection with people to do enormous amounts of good, despite the challenges in her personal life.”

“It seems like the ideal time to revisit her life and legacy and investigate how she evolved from being a relatively obscure adolescent to the most lamented person in history,” said the woman who is 60 years old.

A new statue of Harry and William’s mother was set to be unveiled in 2017. The statue will be unveiled in Kensington Palace’s Sunken Garden on July 1.

According to the most recent sources, Harry will attend the presentation of his mother’s statue, despite Meghan Markle’s absence. As per Harper’s Bazaar, she would instead stay at the couple’s Montecito house to care for their newborn.

Another insider told Entertainment Tonight, “Meghan just gave birth and has no plans to travel to London for the memorial event planned for the statue unveiling.”

William and Harry on their mother

On the twentieth anniversary of Diana’s demise in 2017, Harry and William had a conversation about their mother.

“When everyone says, ‘She was funny,’ provide an instance.’” Harry clarified, “All I hear is her laughing.

She was one of the most mischievous parents; she would watch us play football and sneak sweets into her socks. I remember her carrying five packages of candy when she came back from a football game. Additionally, the entire clothing was covered in candy.

William remarked, “We felt so loved by her, and I’m so thankful that the love is still there.” It seems like a fitting moment to pay tribute to her and, ideally, show an other perspective.

“As her son, you could feel that love even though she was on the other side of the room,” Harry continued.

Harry and William

Being a member of the Royal Family must be a very unique experience. Granted, money will always be plentiful, but life also entails obligations and responsibilities.

recently discovered Princess Diana correspondence

It’s difficult to determine how much of a “normal” upbringing William and Harry shared with their mother. However, Princess Diana’s old letter suddenly came to light.

We receive a brief, yet exquisite, look into William and Harry’s early years through the letter. In addition, there is the extremely unique childhood bond between the two.

Diana wrote the letter in March 1985, barely six months after Harry, her youngest son, was born.

“William loves his younger brother and spends the whole time giving Harry lots and lots of hugs and kisses, barely allowing the parents to get close!” Diana writes in her handwritten letter, which The Sun published.

The letter, which was addressed to Cyril Dickman, a former servant at Buckingham Palace, was auctioned in Cambridge in 2017.

Princess Diana disclosed in additional correspondence how Prince Harry, who was then older, was “always in trouble” at school. She also talked on the happiness that comes with being a mother and the upcoming “difficult period” in her life.

took William and Harry to a fast-food restaurant

William and Harry frequently accompanied Princess Diana to amusement parks and other entertaining places. However, she was also aware of the perks of living as a princess, such as having food given to them constantly.

Despite their status as royals, she understood the value of William and Harry being treated like any other child. In light of this, she occasionally slipped them out of the palace to go buy quick food.

Darren McGrady, Diana’s former personal chef, told Marie Claire, “I remember the princess came into the kitchen one day and said, ‘Cancel lunch for the boys, I’m taking them out, we’re going to McDonald’s.”

“Oh my God, your Royal Highness, I can do that, I can make burgers,” I exclaimed. “No, that’s the toy they want,” she responded.

Our hearts will always be filled with Princess Diana. I am grateful to MonSef Dahman and the medical team for their unwavering efforts in preserving Diana’s life. We consider you and all medical professionals to be heroes.
