Blossom the canine was found by an OrphanPet volunteer in Greece. Having been astray for weeks, if not months, she was wandering the streets in excellent condition.
Its tail had a wire chain lodged in it that had been there for a long time. Her tail floated enormously as a result of the chain being so tightly wrapped around her.
It was also covered in thousands of ticks, which made things worse. They did a good quality test and found that her blood was unusually thin as a result of the ticks. She wouldn’t have lasted much longer if they hadn’t saved her. Blossom was running out of time and they realized they had to act immediately to help her.
They gave her a good transfusion and ended up amputating her tail after bringing her in. They worked deliberately and painstakingly to remove as many ticks as they could, one by one, but it took them almost a week to remove each dead tick.
His transformation is truly remarkable. He is currently in fantastic health and has gained some new canine companions along the way. And most of it? She had been adopted! her Now she has settled into her forever home and is enjoying her second chance at her life. She wouldn’t have reacted if this volunteer hadn’t found her and brought her. Thank goodness for the kind rescuers at OrphanPet!
