Stray dogs and other homeless animals are increasingly common on the streets of Kraljevo, Serbia.
Gora Marikovic loves animals and feeds more than 100 stray dogs and cats on his own money. The experienced animal rescuer felt he would see everything until he found a little puppy named Smestep.
“I rescue animals from the danger that they live on the streets.” “I love animals because I love them; I love all animals equally, cats, dogs and others,” Gora explained. “I feed animals abandoned on the street that do not receive food from humans and have my own time.” “Their numbers are kept at a cost.”
He was feeding a swarm of stray dogs and every day he saw Smestep lying on a garbage dump. The cub looked emaciated and sick, and there were no signs of its mother. Fortunately, the boy had been wearing his shoe down as an improvised shelter from the weather.
Witnessing the puppy’s sociability, the animal’s heart sank. Gora began feeding the child, but she realized that she could leave him alone in his fragile state.
Instead, Gora picked him up and took him home, stopping briefly at the vet’s office to receive medication before beginning to help the puppy back to health.
Gora fed and cared for the cub for the next eight months, until Smestep began to bloom. His coat became silky and clean, and he became competent and well-adjusted. Yesп add that he worships Goraп, his idol!
Gora already has many dogs and cats at home and had decided to place Smestep for adoption when he was ready. However, as the cub grew, Gora realized that she could let him go.
